ORIN Privacy Policy
ORIN is an adaptive learning, mentorship, AI guidance, academic resource, and community platform for high-school learners, after-12 learners, Global Teachers, Global Mentors, and administrators. This Privacy Policy explains what information ORIN collects, how it is used, when it may be shared with service providers, how it is protected, and what choices are available to users.

- Technical and usage information such as app version, timestamps, device/browser details, diagnostics, logs, and security-related usage signals needed to operate and protect the service.
2. How We Use Information
- To create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and provide stage-based or role-based access for students, Global Teachers, Global Mentors, and administrators.
- To operate ORIN features including high-school academic tools, after-12 career tools, mentorship sessions, live sessions, sprint programs, certificates, achievements, quiz battles, study groups, community spaces, chat, complaints, notifications, knowledge library, and opportunities.
- To show the right content to the right audience, such as high-school resources for high-school learners, after-12 content for after-12 learners, institution content for matching institutions, and class content for matching classes.
- To process and verify payments, maintain payout records, review manual payment submissions, and support financial reconciliation and audits.
- To generate AI responses, recommendations, subject-gap insights, study planners, exam strategies, academic roadmaps, career guidance, project ideas, resume outputs, and other learning support.
- To moderate content, investigate complaints, prevent abuse, enforce policies, and maintain safety, reliability, and platform integrity.
- To improve personalization, support, fraud prevention, product performance, and feature quality.
3. High School, Global Teacher, and Academic Data
High-school features may use academic selections such as class, subject, chapter, topic, quiz answers, roadmap progress, study-group activity, and PDF resource usage to provide learning support.
Global Teachers may create or review high-school resources, challenges, roadmaps, opportunities, announcements, and submissions for global high-school audiences, selected institutions, or selected classes.
ORIN may process uploaded academic PDFs and structured syllabus data to power resource browsing, topic selection, AI prompts, study roadmaps, and exam strategy features.
Students should avoid uploading unnecessary personal documents as academic proof unless the app specifically requests them.
4. Payments and Financial Processing
ORIN may use Razorpay and related payment infrastructure to process eligible payments. Manual payment review may also be supported in some flows. ORIN may store payment references, order identifiers, screenshots, verification results, payout records, and related financial audit data where reasonably required.
5. Media, Files, and Uploads
Users may upload images and documents such as profile photos, posters, academic PDFs, curriculum documents, resumes, payment proofs, challenge evidence, roadmap proof, certificates, and screenshots. These uploads are used only to support the related ORIN features, moderation, verification, and user-requested workflows.
6. Meeting Links and Jitsi
ORIN supports mentor-managed meeting links for eligible 1:1 sessions, live sessions, and sprint programs. Mentors may add manual meeting links or generate Jitsi meeting links. When a Jitsi link is generated, ORIN stores it inside the existing meeting-link workflow so a manual fallback can still be used if needed.
The current Jitsi implementation uses standard public Jitsi meeting URLs and does not require a separate Jitsi API key for basic meeting-link generation.
7. Service Providers and Third Parties
ORIN may use service providers that process limited data to deliver app functionality, including payment providers such as Razorpay, storage/media providers such as Cloudinary and Firebase Storage, AI providers such as OpenAI, Groq, or Gemini when configured, and Jitsi for generated meeting links.
These providers receive only the information reasonably necessary for the relevant function, such as processing a payment, storing uploaded media, generating AI output, or opening a meeting room.
ORIN may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect users, administrators, mentors, students, or the platform.
8. Data Sharing Inside ORIN
Some information is visible to other users by design, such as public profile details, posts, comments, certificates, achievements, leaderboard entries, teacher-created content, mentor program listings, and community submissions. Global Teachers and students may see relevant class, institution, resource, challenge, roadmap, study-group, proof, and review details when participating in the same academic activity. Global Mentors and students may also see each other's relevant session or program details when participating in the same ORIN activity.
Administrators may access records needed for moderation, approvals, support, complaint handling, payment verification, academic content review, fraud prevention, and operational review.
9. Data Retention
ORIN retains information for as long as needed to operate the service, complete transactions, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce policies, or comply with legal obligations. Retention periods may differ by data type. Financial, moderation, complaint, certificate, and security records may be kept longer where reasonably required.
10. Permissions and Device Access
- Photos/media access may be used when users upload profile images, posters, documents, proofs, screenshots, or other selected media.
- Camera access may be used only if a user chooses camera-based capture for uploads.
- Network access is required for chat, content sync, AI features, payments, notifications, files, and API communication.
ORIN does not access these resources without user action and platform permission where applicable.
11. Security
ORIN uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect account data, uploaded files, payment-related records, and platform operations. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
12. Your Rights and Choices
- You can update parts of your account and profile information inside the app.
- You can control some privacy settings, such as profile visibility and whether certain information is shown in your profile.
- You can request account deletion or data-related support through the published account deletion flow or by contacting support.
13. Children's Privacy
ORIN currently focuses on high-school and after-12 learning experiences. Kids entry points may exist in product code for future use, but normal public onboarding is focused on high-school and after-12 users.
ORIN is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable laws. If you believe data was submitted improperly, contact support for review.
14. Changes to This Policy
ORIN may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
